Tomorrow is Gallery Night in Milwaukee

Gallery Night, blessing & curse. All the best openings in the city are scheduled the very same evening and if you are a gallery owner (me), you never get to go to them since you have to be at your own place. Not to discredit the awesomeness of owning and curating a gallery, which I love and wouldn't trade for a live pink pony, BUT I do always wonder what I'm missing out on.

Tomorrow (Gallery Night), I am very excited to get to meet our current featured gallery artist Amy Rice. Her show, "Bittersweet" has gotten write-ups in pretty much every local paper, tons of new people have come into the gallery to check out her work, and I couldn't ask for more out of an artist/gallery relationship. Amy has been a total pleasure to work with, and it is an extra bonus that she is taking the time to take the train down to Milwaukee from Minneapolis to hang out. I hope that a bunch of folks make their way to Bay View to meet her and see the work (and the extra bonus of Gallery Night is always.... free beer).
If I wasn't going to be at our super sweet reception with Amy Rice I personally wouldn't miss swing by these two events-

The Little Friends of Printmaking:

DON’T TREAD ON ME, SUCKA

DWR is pleased to present Don’t Tread on Me, Sucka, the first Milwaukee exhibition by recent arrivals The Little Friends of Printmaking. Internationally-known silkscreen artists and recent winners of the Art Directors’ Club 2006 Young Guns award, The Little Friends straddle the line between commercial and fine art, injecting everything they make with their own brand of cheeky humor.
Music by WMSE's very own DJ Dori. Beverages courtesy of Lakefront Brewery.
