CALL FOR PARTICIPATION FOR MILWAUKEE COUNTY ARTISTS:
Paper Politics Milwaukee: A Show of Socially Engaged
Printmaking, September 7, 2007-October 13, 2007

In September of 2007, Walker’s Point Center for the
Arts will hold a juried exhibit of socially engaged
printmaking curated by Josh MacPhee from Troy, New
York. The exhibit will showcase contemporary prints
that use themes of social justice and global equity to
engage community members in political conversation.
The front room gallery of WPCA will exhibit the
traveling Paper Politics art show and will feature
over 250 prints from artists around the world. The
back room gallery of WPCA will feature the work of
local artists living in Milwaukee County.


CALL TO MILWAUKEE COUNTY ARTISTS! SUBMIT YOUR PRINTS
WITH SOCIAL THEMES ON THE DROP-OFF DATES OF AUGUST
24th and 25th:

WHOSE ELIGIBLE:
Artists of all ages, experience levels and backgrounds
are encouraged to submit work. We hope to showcase
work by over one hundred artists from the county of
Milwaukee and we look forward to your participation.
This is more then just an opportunity to show your
work. It is an opportunity for like-minded artists
from all corners of the county to find each other and
form networks.

MEDIA INCLUDED: "Print art" featured in this exhibit
can include monotypes, silkscreen, letterpress,
stenciling, etching, block prints,hand-processed photo
prints, or any kind of printing on paper that
retains some evidence of the human hand. Digital
prints will be accepted if the medium is used in
combination with a traditional technique.

HOW TO SUBMIT WORK:
Bring your prints to WPCA located at 911 W. National
Ave. in Milwaukee on the drop off dates of Friday,
August 24th 9:00 AM-5:00 PM or Saturday, August 25th

Feel free to submit several images for us to choose
from.

ENTRY FEE: Entry for the show is free

SIZE: The maximum size of prints for this exhibition
is 24" x 36".

FRAMING: Work will be presented unframed; please do
not submit framed work if your work is selected.

SALE OF PRINTS/PRICING: In keeping with our theme of
accessibility of the work, we ask that the price of
prints for sale not exceed $200. WPCA will receive a
20% commission of all work sold
